This drawing was created in the summer of 1997, shortly after purchasing my 1963 Airstream Globe Trotter. I wanted the trailer in this drawing to float, like the image of the iconic Airstreams floated in my mind prior to owning one. The fact of the matter is that I had seen very few actual Airstream trailers before I found mine for sale on the roadside on my way to NYC. But that did not stop them from having a mythical place in my world. The trailer in this drawing represents the fantasy of the mythical trailer. It has no wheels or towing apparatus, yet floats and can seemingly take you anywhere you want to go. And when you want to enter or leave the trailer there is a step to allow you to do it with grace.
