Site specific installation with video at the Castellani Art Museum, Niagara Falls, New York, map size 20' x 20'
Detail of binoculars that are needed to see 4" video monitor set into map at the location of Niagara Falls.
From the exhibition catalogue written by Curator Elizabeth Licata:
"In All Roads Lead to Niagara , Burke Paterson has created a simulacrum of the Niagara viewing experience. He recreates the experience of "viewing" the Falls through a witty installation using roads maps, a video, and a "scenic lookout" point. He cleverly exploits the dimensions of the museum's Main Exhibition Hall to demonstrate how we've managed to shrink the Falls in both literal and symbolic ways over the last 200 years."
