black and white print, 8 x 10"
This picture was taken with a Canon AE-1, my first SLR camera, using a slow shutter and fully open aperture on Burnhamthorpe Road in home-town, old school Etobicoke near where I often crossed the road from my townhouse complex to the stop where I boarded a bus with curved windshields and mylar destination banners that took me to the subway and into the city where a great deal of time was wasted in head shops searching for the perfect black satin wall hangings and t-shirts emblazoned with the names and logos of my favourite rock bands. It was about the same time in my life that I learned about run-on sentences. Clearly, I spent more time honing my suburban-rocker shopping skills, than my writing skills. Rock and roll ain't noise pollution, the sound of leaf blowers in the 'burbs is.
